Quilts and Classic Cars – A Perfect Match

August 16, 2010

Ahh, something for everyone in the family – a quilt show for the women (mostly) and classic cars for the men. Finally, an event both husbands and wives, and everyone else in the family, can enjoy!

The Ladner Village annual Quilt Walk and Classic Car Show took place this past weekend in Ladner BC. Over 190 quilts were hung in store windows throughout Ladner village, and more than 360 vintage and unique cars were on display along the streets. If you haven’t been to this event before, you absolutely MUST pencil it into your calendar for 2011!

Jenny Ho of the Quilted Bear in Ladner founded this event nine years ago, and each year sees a bigger and better turnout. Joan Nicholson, this year’s organizer, did an amazing job of bringing the businesses and community together, as well as visitors from all across the Lower Mainland, to enjoy a fun-filled family event with food and entertainment, and lots of quilts and cars!

Hope things are good in your neck of the woods! Will you be at the Creative Stitches show here in Edmonton or Calgary this fall? Just saw the contest Val is running so I’m stopping by for a shameless extra chance to win your mag! šŸ™‚ Big Hugs to you! From Bradie Sparrow.
